We’re a group that has formed to give back to our community by doing what we love to do – play board games. We support a charity called Extra Life, which benefits the Children’s Miracle Network.

Our story started in 2014, when Jamison had the idea to create a 30-hour marathon of board games to benefit a charity called Child’s Play, which buys toys and games for children in hospitals all over the country. Through some hard work by a lot of people, the event went off successfully, and raised over $1,100 for Child’s Play. While trying to ensure that the money raised would come back to our local children’s hospital, The Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital in Portland, Maine, Jamison learned about the Children’s Miracle Network and Extra Life.

Next year rolled around and Jamison and Rob (who had been instrumental to the success of the first event) wanted to do it bigger and better. More prizes, more games, more fun – all of which happened. With even MORE help than the previous year, the marathon raised over $6,000 for Extra Life.

Enter 2016, the year we became Chits & Bits. We brought on Mike, who helped us define our style, create our website and just generally keep us looking professional . We held the marathon again, but we also hosted several other events – the Chits & Bits team was at local restaurants selling raffle tickets, at conventions, helping volunteer at road races- all of which added up to a huge year for us. Our final total for 2016’s Extra Life fundraising was just over $23,000; all of which stayed local to our community. We try to make our fundraising efforts as easy and fun as possible. We hope to see you at one of our events!
